The Ironwoods Real Estate & Information

Out of the many islands that make up the state of Hawaii, one of the most desirable for real estate buyers is Maui. The island of Maui has a reputation the world over for being a parades on earth. It’s stunning natural beauty and the amazing weather never gets old, even for those that have lived there their entire lives. One part of Maui that attracts many residents is the western part, where Kapalua is located. Conde Nast Traveler magazine once named Kapalua Bay as the Best Beach in the World as well as Best Beach in America by the Travel Channel. Here, buyers can find the luxury Kapalua Ironwoods condominiums. These oceanfront condos boast a glorious view of the Pacific Ocean, which opens up into the Oneloa Bay. It’s not uncommon for residents of these Ironwoods condos to get to experience postcard picture perfect sunsets on a daily basis. According to the 2010 census, Kapalua had a population of 353, which most likely hasn’t grown by much. This means that residents can assured of being able to enjoy a very private paradise.

Shopping and Dining

The population of Kapalua may be small, but that doesn’t mean that residents of Ironwoods will have no place to shop or dine. In fact, there are a number of restaurants in the Kapalua area of Maui that are well worth checking out. Considering the location, it should come as no surprise that there are several excellent seafood restaurants in the area near Kapalua, including Koa’s Seaside Grill, Leilani’s on the Beach and the Lahaina Grill, which is one of the more upscale restaurants in the area. Looking for some good local Hawaiian grub? Favorite local spots include the 808 Grindz Cafe, the Hula Grill Kaanapali and Okazuya & Deli Honokowai. Not that seafood and local Hawaiian food are the only options around here. Residents can grab a slice at Sale Pepe, indulge in a burger at Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, enjoy Ramen at Star Noodle and try out some sushi at Miso Phat.

Residents have plenty of shopping options to choose from as well. The Kilohana Boutique and the Kamaleidesign Kapalua jewelry store are both located in Kapalua, while a wide assortment of other shops are located within a short drive away to Lahaina, which is still on the Western coast of Maui. Some of these shopping options include Louis Vuitton, The Outlets of Mauii, Whalers Village shopping center, Malibu Shirts, Mahina women’s clothing, West Maui Sports & Fishing Supply and the Island Sole shoe store, just to name a few.

Parks and Recreation

Residents of the Ironwoods condos have one of the most gorgeous islands in the world to explore, which means that their parks and recreation options are almost unlimited, whether they want to go hiking, fishing or swimming. In fact, there are a handful of businesses that focus on providing local adventures to both residents and tourists, such as Lopaka’s Aloha Adventures and Maui Hiking Safaris. Residents can also go off on their own by hiking through the Iao Valley State Monument or through Banyan Tree Park.

Residents of the Ironwoods condos will also have access to some of the luxury amenities that are included in the gated oceanfront complex. These amenities include a spa, a gym, a pool and two tennis courts. Residents also happen to be located right by the 6,600 yard par 72 Kapalua Bay Golf Course, which was designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane and which hosts numerous prestigious golf tournaments, such as the Lincoln-Mercury Kapalua International. Not to mention that residents can access the two Champion Golf Courses that are located in the Kapalua Resort, which even has an area known as The Kapalua Tennis Garden, which consists of ten tennis courts!


The unemployment rate in Kapalua is extremely low. According to data collected in 2012, Kapalua’s unemployment rate was 2.5 percent, well below the state’s unemployment rate of 4.2 percent and the country’s unemployment rate of 6 percent - both recorded at the same time. The income per capita in Kapalua was $105,600, which was 261.3 percent greater than the state average. 

Schools, Healthcare, and Transportation

Kapalua is home to the Maui Preparatory Academy, a private school that teaches grades PK through 12. Just south in Lahaina are a number of public schools, including the King Kamehameha III Elementary School, the Lehainaluna High School and the Lahaina Intermediate School.

The St. Francis Medical Center is the closest hospital with emergency care services near Kapalua. Residents can also make use of the Minit Medical Urgent Care Clinic for any urgent care needs as well.

Residents have easy access to the Kapalua Airport, which is located just south of Kapalua in Honokowai.
